Professional Excellence
Originally from Spain, Dr. Martinez first trained and practiced as an ophthalmologist in Barcelona, where she provided comprehensive eye care for ten years before relocating to the United States in 2010. Driven by her commitment to excellence, she completed a glaucoma research fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital, followed by four additional years of ophthalmology residency training at Drexel University/Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia and West Virginia University Eye Institute in Morgantown. This extensive training pathway, combined with board certification, strengthens the high level of clinical care she offers her patients.
My journey from Barcelona to practicing here has taught me that ophthalmology isn't just about treating eyes, it's about restoring the way people experience the world around them. Every day, I'm reminded why I chose to dedicate so many years to additional training: the privilege of helping patients see their loved ones clearly and live without limitation is what drives my passion for this profession.
